Need some exercise and fresh air?
Drive down US1 to about mile marker 10. Turn left at the Circle K (Gieger Key Road) and follow it until it ends.  Park near the end, along the side of the road and walk south along the Oceans edge until you come to the Cuban boat and driftwood house.  You can't miss it.

Yes, it is very safe anytime.  Actually, it is maintained by the Navy and no camping or overnite.  The driftwood fort or house is wonderful.......they let someone build it because he cleans up the waterfront in the process……no one is allowed to live there.  It is just for your enjoyment, be sure to go all through it.  The locals are very friendly.

The entire walk is an adventure. Early morning is a great time, not as much chance to catch the nude sun bathers. WE very seldom see one.   But, if you do, they won't care anyway if you don't gawk.  Gieger Key Marina is a quick stop for lunch and a beer if you can find it. Don't forget to stop about mm15 at Baby's Coffee.
